Stoney Cove

Stony cove was originally a Granite Quarry at the turn of the century. In  the early sixties the quarry was flooded to make it into an Commercial Diving Training Centre for the North Sea Oil Fields. Then by the late seventies it was converted in to an Inland Recreational Diving Site. Now it has been developed further in great facility including the Nemo Bar and Restaurant. The Dive site has many wrecks including the Stanegarth, the U.K.’s largest inland ship wreck, and the Nautilus submarine.

This is a great location for Recreational Diver Training and basic Technical diving.
